Developer McCormack Baron Salazar and Assistance League of Southern California Sign Memorandum of Understanding with NSBN For Collaboratively Planning Joint-Use/Transit Oriented Retail, Housing and Education Complex in Hollywood.

The Hollywood & Western Transit Village Development will integrate housing, retail, preschool, and community meeting rooms above the MTA stop in this dense neighborhood. The MOU with McCormack Baron Salazar and Assistance League of Southern California will explore opportunities to serve working families within Hollywood with preschool services. NSBN will fund a professional design team to develop design options for the project to ensure the community’s needs are met.

The area in which the site is located consists of a large population of immigrant families with 85% of residents in the area speaking a non-English language in their home. Forty-two percent of persons in the area are in poverty and 31% of families have children between the ages of 0-5.
